Frances Palmes Jacques, 75, a longtime resident of Spanish Fort, AL, died peacefully at her home on Mon., Feb. 6, 2017.
Born in Alexandria, VA, to Douglas Edward Palmes of Mobile, AL, and Mary Lucyle Hall of Hattiesburg, MS, she was a proud graduate of Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA.
Fran was a devoted wife and mother while raising her children in Maryland. Later in life, she worked at the Riverview Plaza and Bell South in Mobile. She was a valued employee at the law firm of Ross & Jordan in Mobile for nearly a decade until her retirement.
Vivacious, kind, beautiful, witty, fiercely independent and fun, Fran loved her family selflessly and was a caring friend to so many. She enjoyed a good game of Scrabble, bird-watching, proper grammar, classic movies, singing, music, and traveling, among many other interests. An ardent supporter of the welfare of animals, she cherished her pet cat and several dogs throughout her life.
She is survived by three children, Bob Jacques of Spanish Fort, Richard Jacques of Mansfield, TX and Linda Jacques of Orange Beach, AL; three grandchildren, Hampton Honeycutt of Birmingham, AL, Hayden Honeycutt of Grenada, MS and Jonathan Janes Jacques of Pensacola, FL; many other relatives and friends brought her great joy during her lifetime.
A memorial service will take place Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 at Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL, 36526. The gathering begins at noon, followed by a celebration of her life at 1:00pm.
