In Loving Memory

August 6, 1927 – September 16, 2017


Cothran W. Duncan, 90, died peacefully on September 16, 2017 in Stapleton, Alabama after a short illness.  Mr. Duncan was born in Barnesville, GA.   He was retired from the US Marine Corps with 30+ years of service during which time he served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam.  Cothran formerly resided in Cleveland, GA for 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  He owned and operated Rocks, Relics and Beads in Cleveland.   He loved all kinds of stones, especially opals, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.

He moved to Stapleton 1 year ago to be with his daughter.  He was the last of 8 siblings. 

Cothran is survived by his daughters, Debbie (John) Nolen of Stapleton; Belinda (James Broach) Robinson of Ball Ground, GA and Theresa (Ronnie) Barton of Armuchee, GA; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life honoring Cothran will be held in Cleveland, Georgia and details will be announced later.
