In Loving Memory
June 24, 1947 – December 17, 2017
Cornelius John Griffin Jr., 70, born in Americus, GA and longtime resident of Mobile, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, December 17, 2017 at home with his family by his side.
Known as “Neal” by his loved ones and friends, he was a humble man who valued his family above everything else. He spent most of his working life in the automotive parts industry. During his free time, he chose to take part in both his children’s lives, camping and boy scouting with his son, and traveling across the country with his daughter. His loves and hobbies included American Civil War research and family genealogy. During his retirement he was able to devote even more time to his hobbies and family, and be a part of his grand ”god” children’s lives. He is predeceased by his parents, Cornelius J. Griffin, Sr., and Aileen Noble Griffin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Julie Solorzano Griffin; his son, Cornelius J. Trey (Melanie) Griffin, III; his daughter, Kristy Nicole Griffin; his sisters, Jeanne Griffin, Beth (Sam) Alston; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
