In Loving Memory
May 18, 1948 – February 22, 2018
Orval “Skeeter” Edison Britt, Jr., age 69, passed away on February 22, 2018 at a local hospital. Mr. Britt was a resident of Saraland as a child through his teenage years and resided in Mobile during his adult years. He attended Satsuma High School and Bay Minette Junior College. Mr. Britt enlisted in the United States Navy, on July 1, 1966 and was discharged April 22, 1974, and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a passion for bass fishing and could fish Big Creek Lake better than most. He loved to hunt, loved to dance and played softball for many years as well as coached women’s softball. He was also an avid Alabama Fan….Roll Tide! He worked at Chevron until retirement then started ACME Plumbing, where he owned and operated until his death, for 31 years. He loved his family and his family loves him dearly and unconditionally. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he will forever live in our hearts.
Mr. Britt was preceded in death by his father, Orval E. Britt, Sr.; his mother, Doris Reed Britt; brothers, Stephen Britt and Mitchell Britt.
He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Britt-Bradley (Hunter); son, Christopher Britt; his grandchildren whom he loved so deeply, Baylor and Braylen Bradley, and one baby boy on the way; sister, Melanie Kurgas; nephew, Eric Kurgas, Jr.; his fiancé’, Glenda Smith; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Skeeter’s life will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at The Venue at Dawes, 3349 Dawes Road, Mobile, AL 36695, from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM. A time of remembrance will be held at 3:00pm.
