Jean Ross Flynn, 92, born June 19, 1925, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 21st at Bayridge Westminister Village, Spanish Fort, AL. Jean was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Mobile and a member of St. Margaret’s Guild in her younger days. She was the daughter of the late Catharine Tonsmeire Ross and Thomas McIntyre Ross and married to Jonathan Bullock Flynn until his death in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her oldest child, Jonathan Bullock Flynn, Jr; her brother, Thomas McIntyre Ross, Jr, and both parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Flynn Smith (Maclin) and her grandchildren, Jonathan Bullock Flynn, III (Molly), Henry Maclin Smith, Jr (Sarah), Catharine Smith McBrayer (David) and Jonathan Wilson Smith along with seven great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Janice Foster Flynn.

Jean loved Mobile, her family, friends, the Junior League, the Colonial Dames and the Mystic Organizations of which she was proud to be a member. A special thanks goes to the loving care she received from the care givers at Westminister Village and Asera Care Hospice.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11 am at Pine Crest Cemetery located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to send a memorial may send a donation to Wilmer Hall Children’s Home, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, or a charity of your choice.
