In Loving Memory

December 5, 1968 – April 7, 2018



Angela Maddox Meador, 49, born in Cullman, AL and resident of Gulf Shores, AL for the past seven years, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in a local hospital from a very brief illness.  She was a member of the graduating class of 1986 of Cullman High School and went on to study accounting and graduated from Wallace State Community College.  Angela began her career in accounting at Cook’s Accounting in Cullman where she worked for many years.  Later, she moved to Gulf shores and was employed by Exit Realty and Kaiser Realty, both in Gulf Shores.  Angela was a lady who was filled with love.  Love for her family, her friends, her work, and her church.  As an active member of First Baptist Gulf Shores, she served in many areas such as children’s ministries where she taught Sunday school and with hospitality as one of her many gifts, she enjoyed preparing, serving, and taking meals to those in need.  Anytime there was an opportunity to assist with missions, you could always find her there.  She loved her Lord and she served Him faithfully. 

Angela’s entire life was devoted to her children and her family and she was affectionately known as “G-Mama”.  She was a loving mother, daughter and wife and always knew her Mother as her best friend.  Her smile was beautiful, her joy was contagious.  She truly radiated the love of Christ to everyone she knew and everywhere she went.  She is predeceased by her father, Carl Maddox. 

She is survived by her loving husband of fifteen years, Jason R. Meador, Gulf Shores; her children, Misha Buckelew, Mitch Buckelew, and Katherine Meador, all of Gulf Shores, Thomas Meador and Samantha Meador, both of North Carolina and Haley Meador of Cullman, AL; her beloved parents, Doug and Kay Alexander, Gulf Shores; two brothers, Mark (Kecia) Maddox, Huntsville, AL and David (Annette) Maddox, Leesville, LA;  a very special niece, Bonnie (Andrew) Martin; two great nieces, Gracelyn and Tyler, of Blountsville, AL; nephews, John Mark Maddox and Matthew Maddox; and many other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores, 2200 W 1st St, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.  The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon.  Officiating will be Dr. Lawrence Phipps, and her brother, Reverend Mark Maddox will be giving the eulogy.  Expressions of condolence may be offered at https://hughesfh.com.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home & Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL, 36526.
