Dr. Anis A. Shorrosh, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL with his family by his side.
He was born January 6, 1933 in Nazareth, Israel. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Shorrosh, and survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Shorrosh of Mobile, AL; his two sons, Salam Shorrosh of Daphne, AL and Paul Shorrosh of Mobile, AL; and his daughter, Victoria Turner of Chatom, AL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dr. Shorrosh graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1959 and later received a Doctorate of Ministries from Luther Rice Seminary and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Oxford Graduate School. Dr. Shorrosh served as a pastor in Jordan from 1959-1966. After that he served for 50 years as an international evangelist in over 80 countries, preaching and teaching the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. During Dr. Shorrosh’s lifetime, he authored ten books, including The Liberated Palestinian, The True Furqan; Jesus, Prophecy, and The Middle East; and Islam; A Threat or A Challenge.
Family and friends touched by Dr. Shorrosh are invited to celebrate his amazing life and ministry on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Dayspring Baptist Church, 2200 Cody Road South, Mobile, AL 36695. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope (19698 South Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532) with a brief graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Expressions of condolence may be offered at hughesfh.com.
