In Loving Memory

Marion “Taylor” Phillips, age 88, longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away, Saturday morning, June 2, 2018 with his family by his side.   He was a Veteran of the US Army who served in the Korean War and was retired from Riviera Utilities where he worked for over thirty eight years as a lineman.  Taylor also served as a member of the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department for over twenty years and as an Usher and Extraordinary Minister at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and belonged to The Knights of Columbus for over twenty years as well.  He was also a member of The American Legion of Fairhope Post 199 and past Commander of the Foley American Legion Post 99 for the past 65 years and a member of the 40 & 8 for 14 years.  He is preceded in death by his parents,  Burns Phillips and Mary McKinney Phillips and two brothers, Burns “Buddy” Phillips and Walter Phillips.

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Romona Phillips, Fairhope;  daughter, Delia ( Dennis) Driskell and son, Milton (Patsy) O’Quinn; two sisters, Virgie Reed and Elizabeth Carpenter; two brothers, James Phillips and Lee Phillips;  five grandchildren, seven great-grand children; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 am, St Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.  Celebrant will be Fr.
