In Loving Memory
November 3, 1942 – August 6, 2018
Yao “Skip” Tutuola, a native of New York City and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the age of 75.
Yao, was known to his friends and family as “Skip”. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force. Skip was a tough teacher. He was a strong, loving father, who never took no for an answer. He was a very spiritual man, who in recent years, converted to Judaism and attended the synagogue in Daphne. He loved to play pickle ball, was an avid skydiver and enjoyed operating his flight simulator. His most favorite saying was, “It is what it is”.
Skip was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bell; his children, Felicia, Shawn and Malcolm; and his father, Roy Leon Bell, Sr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Margaret Brewer Bell, who at the age of 97 is still doing great in New York City; his children, Ramona (Gene); Roy, Jr., “Baldy”, Victor, Barry, Robert; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Steven, Michael, Andrew and Sumar Bell; sister, Nina Bell Scott; Alice Bell O’Neill and Marcy Bell; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Bell, Larry Bell, Clarence Boxley and Joe Allegri.
