In Loving Memory
November 6, 1950 – September 18, 2018

Donald “Donnie” Keith Sims passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the age of 67.  Donnie was born at Camp LeJuene in Jacksonville, NC and lived most of his life in Birmingham, AL, before moving to Daphne, AL in 2009. Donnie graduated from Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach, VA in 1968.  He attended Old Dominion University.  Donnie enjoyed watching the Alabama Crimson Tide…Can I get a “Roll Tide!”.  He also loved “oldies” music and playing his harmonica.  He was an avid golfer and loved to play at Roebuck Municipal.  He was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing his culinary skills with his family and friends.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #113 in Tarrant, AL, where he loved helping and serving the people of his community.  Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Sims and Margie Eubank Sims; and a sister Becky Storey.  He is survived by one son, Keith Sims (Amanda), of Northport, AL; one daughter, Tricia Hughes (Bill), of Daphne, AL; two brothers, David Sims (Ruth) of Lakeland, FL and Michael Sims (Teresa) of Spring, TX; four grandchildren, Matthew Hughes, Jackson “Jack” Hughes, Joe Moye and Avery Moye; along with other family members and friends.

Services for Mr. Sims will be private and will be held at a later date.  The family welcomes flowers to be sent to the funeral home, and also suggests that memorial donations be made to the Women’s Care Medical Center, P.O. Box 1610, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
