In Loving Memory
March 9, 1928 – September 19, 2018
Harold Parker, age 90, a native and resident of Daphne, AL, died on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at a local health care facility.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Herman Parker & Mary Cometti Parker; and his two brothers, George Parker & William Parker. He is survived by his sister, Hermina Parker Surritt; numerous nephews and nieces, and other relatives.
He served 22 years Active Duty in the U.S. Navy, including 7 years with afloat forces and aviation personnel, and his last 15 years he was attached to submarine units including the USS Razorback and USS Sargo as Senior Chief Sonarman. Harold enlisted during WWII and served during the Korean War and Vietnam War. Harold was extremely active as a Freemason at Spanish Fort Lodge #916 and served in every chair including Worshipful Master. He was a member of many other organizations including Scottish Rite, the Order of the Eastern Star OES Chapter #539 in Spanish Fort, AL, the Eastern Shore Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #2687, the Elks Lodge of Fairhope, AL #1879, the VFW of Fairhope, AL Post #5660, and Shriner’s International at ABBA Shrine in Mobile, AL. Harold was co-owner and operator of Max’s Café in Point Clear, AL for 22 years where many celebrities stopped in over the years to enjoy the food.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM for friends on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September, 25, 2018 at 10:00AM at The Old Methodist Church Museum & Cemetery of Daphne, 405 Dryer Ave, Daphne, AL.
