Nydia Esperanza DeSantiago, a native of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the age of 89.
Nydia was a wonderful, good person. She graduated with a master’s degrees in education from the University of Puerto Rico. She was an English teacher, who loved her students, and was loved by her students. She loved flowers, especially red roses. She adored her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Bice”. She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother you could ever have.
Nydia is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Angel Luis DeSantiago. She is survived by her son, Rafael DeSantiago (Ana Molina); daughter, Yamira Cardona (Fredy Melendez); sister, Maria Edmee’ Juarbe; grandchildren, Chris Yoval Cardona and Yakris Edmee’ Cardona; great-grandchildren, Kalayla, Jakayla, Noah, Noel, David and Daniel; along with other family members and friends.
