In Loving Memory

April 22, 1926 – December 28, 2018

 

 

Gardner Eugene Cline, 92, a native of: Weirton, WV and resident of Lubbock, TX, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 28, 2018 in Fairhope, AL.  He was born in Bens Run, WV to his parents, William and Elsie Mae (Gardner) Cline.  Gardner served as a corporal in the Army Air Corps during and after WWII. He spent his working life at Weirton Steel as an industrial engineer. His life was devoted to his wife and family, and he was faithfully committed to the work of the church. During his retirement he served as an elder for several years at the Mango Church of Christ in Mango, FL.

Preceding him in death are two grandchildren, a sister, Esther Wright, and his wife of 61 years, Patte Cline.

Surviving are his children,  Cynthia (Phil) Johnston of Lubbock, TX, Kevin (Beva) Cline of Albuquerque, NM and Cathy (Steve) Lovato of Spanish Fort, AL;  grandchildren, Jennifer Burt, Mark Johnston, Lindsey Trepagnier, Shelbi Bencoe, Erica, Davis and Ryan Lovato; great-grandchildren, Allie and Zach Burt, Ella Bencoe and his siblings, Freda Watson and Jim Cline.

Memorial services will be held January 19, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Wierton Heights Church of Christ, 3169 Pennsylvania Ave. in Weirton, WV.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harding University, Searcy, AR or South Plains Church of Christ, Lubbock, TX.  Expressions of condolence may be made at www.hughesfh.com.
