In Loving Memory

January 18, 1961 – May 6, 2020

 

Mark Andrew Powell, a native of Adrian, Michigan, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the age of 59.

Mark was a 1979 graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School and a 1990 graduate from the University of South Alabama.  He worked at Integrity Music for over 16 years, and most recently was the Family Pastor at Mars Hill Church, Mobile, Alabama.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lavern Powell.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dana Lynn Powell; his children, Chad Andrew (Ashley) Powell of San Antonio, TX , Corey Scott (Amy) Powell of Mobile, AL, and Chelsea Lynn Jones of Mobile, AL; his grandchildren, Lilly Mae Jones, Naomi Rose Powell, Ella Jane Jones, Scott Andrew Powell, Hindley Grace Powell, Grace Elizabeth Powell, Macy Lynn Jones, Emery Fraser Powell; his mother, Rosalyn Tortorella of Plantation, FL; siblings, Cynthia (Rick) Still of Plantation, FL, Melissa Powell Santino of Pompano Beach, FL, and Michael (Sandi) Powell of Tamarac, FL; his father-and-mother-in-law, William and Mony McCracken of Mobile, AL; and his brother-in-law: Scott (Vicki) McCracken of Portland, OR.

A service will be held at Mars Hill Church, at a date and time to be determined later, due to the virus restrictions.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Powell family would like any monetary tributes to go to missionaries, Scott and Vicki McCracken, in Rockwood, Oregon, through One Collective.
