In Loving Memory

October 6, 1934 – December 22, 2020




On December 22, 2020,  Pearl “Babe” Lipscomb Rawson passed away at the age of 86. 

Babe was born to Wilmer and Velma Lipscomb on October 6, 1934 in Foley Alabama.  Babe attended Judson College and then graduated from the University of Alabama in 1956. After college she worked as a teacher, nurse and an administrator.  She married her loving husband of 59 years, Preston Rawson, Jr., on June 13, 1961. Together Babe and Preston raised four children, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  

Babe was a member of Vernant Park Baptist Church for most of her life.  Her faith and love for God always showed in her smile. Babe’s life was devoted to her family and was committed to the lives of three generations of children as well as her late brother’s children, Simone and Lance Lipscomb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Wilmer Lipscomb Jr. 

Babe is survived by her children, Michael Rawson (Vickie), Johnny Rawson, Patti Rawson Grennan (Jed), Paula Rawson Oliver (Greg); her grandchildren, China Rawson, Michael Rawson Jr,  Brooke Harrison, Paige Hunter, Parker Rawson Morris, Katie Banks (Chance), Matthew John Preston Grennan,  Sydni Rayne Oliver, Stacey Price, Todd Morris, Jennifer Sprinkel (Clark), Megan Fox (Jimmer), Colt Oliver, Mike Harrison, Mark Harrison and John Harrison; and her great-grandchildren,  Jade, Kobe, Curt, Keelan, Isabella, Kendra, Madison, John Ross, Derek, Emilee, Mariah, Collier, Grace, Amelia and Jaxtyn; as well as other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Vernant Park Baptist Church, 10891 Vernant Park Church Road in Foley, Alabama.
