In Loving Memory
January 8, 1926 – December 22, 2020
Lois Anderson Adams passed away peacefully at her home from natural causes, on December 22, 2020 at the beautiful age of 94. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt who was greatly loved, appreciated and respected by her family, friends and church community. She will be greatly missed.
Lois stayed active in her life and was only slowed down by the pandemic of this last year. Until the lockdown, she still enjoyed going out to eat, going to the boats with her best friend Kat, and working at her church as a volunteer. She was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church and donated her time to the activities with the women’s circle there. Before the pandemic, she enjoyed her time working in the office one afternoon a week interacting with the other members, helping to get out the bulletin and doing whatever else was needed in the way of office help. Before she retired at the age of 75, she had a long career as a bookkeeper for Nelson Wholesale in Mobile AL. She raised two daughters by herself after her husband died 64 years ago. She is celebrated, loved, and cherished. The hole she leaves behind in our hearts will never be filled.
Lois was the wife of Bennie Fred Adams, who predeceased her in 1956. She was also predeceased by her eldest daughter, Brenda Adams Catlin.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Adams Lubecki; and her grandchildren, Daniel Edward Lubecki and Victoria Claire Lubecki; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A small service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL, on what would have been her 95th birthday, Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Her ashes will be buried in the memory garden of her church immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
Expressions of condolence for the family may be made at www.hughesfh.com. Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family
I celebrate her beautiful example of loving interest in others, her quiet but almost fierce independence, and her steadfast faith. Every visit with her was a joy, and she will be missed.
Kathy: It’s been a long, long time since I last saw you, but I’m saddened to hear of the loss of your mother. I know she was a favorite of my grandfather and your great aunt (if I remember correctly). Please accept my condolences.
Kathy, Tori and Daniel, What a beautiful tribute this obituary was to Mrs. Adams. Having spent so much time as a child with your family, I can only say that your expressions certainly said exactly who and what Mrs. Adams was. I always admired her for raising you and Brenda as a single mother. She was such a wonderful seamstress and made many of us jealous of your beautiful clothes. It was a joy to know Mrs. Adams and my sympathies to all of you at this sad time. What a wonderful life and example she lived for all of you to follow. God. Bless.
Lois was the sweetest person and my right hand in the church office. I always looked forward to seeing her and sharing stories about our children & grandchildren. I will truly miss her. May prayers go out to her family for their loss.
