Tribute

Jordan Montgomery Sanders, 27, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from complications of Type I Diabetes.

Jordan was born in Mobile, AL on November 26, 1994. He was a graduated from Baker High School.

Jordan worked in many service industries where he enjoyed helping others. He had a caring heart and a concern for others. Jordan was a talented writer and artist. He knew how to put his emotions onto paper, whether it was through a descriptive writing of his day or a drawing of a cartoon character. Jordan enjoyed any game relating to strategy and competition. Even though he was a competitive player, he was never a sore loser. He always honored the other players with respect and a “good game.” He knew how to lighten up a room with conversation or a “hey, what up!” There was never a dull moment when he was around.

Jordan is survived by his mother, Jennifer Yurko and stepfather, Nicholas Yurko, his father, Joshua Sanders and stepmother, Donna Sanders; brother, Jonathon Sanders; half-siblings, Caroline Marie Shaw, John David Shaw, and Nicholas Wayne Michael Boykin; and grandparents, Marian and Jerry Boykin and Joseph and Lynda Sanders. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

There will be two memorial services held, the first will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Dayspring Baptist Church 2200 Cody Road South, Mobile, AL, and the second will be Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 1707 Government St, Mobile AL.

I remember the conversations in youth group. Jordan was always a light, always with that big smile. He always had a great since of humor. He was a joy and a blessing to the student ministry.

My heart aches for all of you. There aren’t many things worse than the loss of a child but I hope you are able to find comfort in the joy he brought to your lives and the fond memories that will love on forever. Hang in there!
