In Loving Memory
May 27, 1917 – July 3, 2017
Aileen Noble Griffin, age 100, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 27, 1917, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a resident of Mobile since 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Aileen Noble, husband Cornelius John Griffin and sister, Carl Deen Noble. Many events during her early years such as WW1, losing her mother at an early age, being raised by her grandmother, the Great Depression, and WW11, contributed to shaping her character. She was a strong, frugal, kind, loving and giving person who was a tremendous blessing to her family and friends. She loved her husband dearly and throughout her life she enjoyed being around his siblings and their families. She greatly enjoyed being a member of Moffett Road Baptist Church. She had many friends there and learned much from them and the ministry there. Among her favorite activities were reading the comic section of the newspaper, working with plants on her patio, and having family gatherings. She worked for several years at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Brookley Field, retiring at age sixty-five. Many neighborhood ladies became her good friends and they enjoyed a special camaraderie in their retirement years. We, her family, remember her kind, loving, joyful and sweet nature, and are thankful God gave her to us and blessed her with a long, happy life.
Survivors include her son Neal (Julie) Griffin, daughters Jeanne Griffin and Beth (Sam) Alston, grandson Trey (Melanie) Griffin of Daphne AL, and granddaughter Kristy Griffin, other relatives and friends.. Her family would like to especially recognize her devoted caregivers, Linda Daniels, Dorothy Ward, Gabby Young and Jackie Law. We are also thankful to Asceracare Hospice for their compassionate care of our Mother.
