In Loving Memory

Amberly Montgomery

December 22, 1999 - February 7, 2021

Amberly Noel Montgomery, born December 22, 1999, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, leaving a huge whole in the hearts of all who knew her.

Amberly’s talents were many, including playing softball for the Baker Hornets during her high school years, where her hard work paid off with a scholarship to the University of Mobile. Her zest for life was evident on and off the field. Amberly’s huge heart always showed, never meeting a stranger, and always looking for the good in people. Her big, beautiful smile was given to everyone – her family, many friends and even people she just met. Affectionately known as Ammo, Amberly lit up any room with her vibrant, playful personality.

Amberly is survived by her mother, Cindy McNeeley; father, Trent Montgomery; stepfather, Brad McNeeley; brother, Landon Montgomery; sisters, Cassie McNeeley and Gabi (Nick) Wessinger; nephew, Jackson Wessinger; grandparents: Gail and Gordan Fant, Edna Montgomery, Joseph Bolen and Donna McNeeley; aunts: Tonya Fant, Kim Hamilton, Tracy Hosfelt and Tina Rider; uncles, Troy Montgomery, Timmy Montgomery and Thomas Fant; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Dayspring Baptist Church, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends beginning at 10am. Burial will be for immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Amberly Montgomery Softball Scholarship Fund at the University of Mobile.  For more information, contact Head Coach, Allison Cook at 251-680-6301.

To the wonderful family of Amberly Montgomery,
Daughters are a source of immeasurable joy for her parents. Long before a daughter is born, she is deeply loved. Daughters are often a mother’s best friend, her ally, and her most precious treasure. For a father, a daughter is often the apple of his eye, his princess. It is no surprise then, that a parent’s love for a daughter is so intense and selfless. For this reason, the loss of a daughter can bring on a range of difficult emotions including numbness, guilt, anger, emptiness, disbelief and deep sadness.

I had the experience of going to school with Amberly during our middle and high school years, once I heard the news it broke my heart. Not only was she a gentle and sweet soul, but she was a beautiful person through and through. Whenever I seen her in the halls it’s not one day I didn’t see her wearing a bright smile. As God has called his Angel back home to Heaven I would love to extend out my condolences and prayers to all of her family, she was loved and touched by many.

Trent, Brad, Cindy, Cassie, Landon, Gabi, Nick and other family members,

John, Jaclyn and I are at lost for words. What do you say when there are no words to say? We are so deeply sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Amberly but from the outpouring support of friends and family and the deeply expressed sorrow that has been shown, I know she was loved by all who knew her. I know each of you are experiencing this tragedy in a different way. To some of you, you have lost a sister. Some have lost a grandchild. Some have lost a friend and Cindy, Trent and Brad, you have lost a daughter. That is the deepest hurt there is. I am reminded through all this how God must’ve felt when He gave His only Son as a sacrifice for us. While no one knows except those who have lost a child what you are going through, God knows. I can only imagine the questions you must have. Sometimes there are no answers. We don’t know now but one day we will know all the answers to our questions. If there is anything I could say to you today, it would be Amberly may be gone from this earth but she will never be gone from your heart. She will always be there. Every time you look at a flower, she will be in the face of that flower. Every time you feel the wind on your face, it is Amberly giving you a kiss. A soul that lives in our hearts never dies. May God grant each of you peace during this time. May the love and support of family and friends help ease the pain you are going through and may God comfort you and hold each of you in the palm of His hand.
