Angie Hawes Reed, a native of Natchez, MS and a resident of Daphne, AL, by way of Dallas, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the age of 65.
Angie was a graduate of USM with a degree in Geology. She worked for many years in Dallas, Texas in the oil industry. She retired to Daphne, Alabama and began a second career with Ashurst Niemeyer Realty. Angie was involved in various Republican Women’s organizations of Baldwin County.
Angie had a love for animals, art and travel. She was a loyal and loving wife, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Angie is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Wilson Hawes, Jr.; her mother, Clara Roberts Hawes; and her brother, Edward Hawes.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mac Reed; her stepson, Adam Reed (Virginia) of Jacksonville, FL; her siblings, Perry Hawes and Vera Hawes, both of Natchez, MS; and her fur baby, Annie.
A memorial service will be held at Laird Funeral Home, 408 Union Street in Natchez, MS, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11AM. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends before the service begins at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Coach Edwin A. Reed Memorial Scholarship Fund at Delta State University, in Cleveland, MS.
