A.W. “Buster” Ferguson, Sr., a native of Little River, Alabama and a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the age of 93.
Buster was a graduate of Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann McClammy, right after graduation and they were married for 75 wonderful years. He owned and operated his own business, A.W. Ferguson Co., Inc., for many years. He was widely known throughout the plumbing industry for his expertise. Buster was an avid hunter, fisherman and Alabama Crimson Tide football fan….Roll Tide! He was also known to be quite a jokester, always having something funny or sarcastic to say.
Buster is preceded in death by his parents, Leontz “Buddy” and Sara Ferguson; one brother, Robert L. Ferguson; one sister, Irene Mims; and sons, Andy and Billy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Ann McClammy Ferguson; two daughters, Vickie and Kathy Ferguson of Spanish Fort, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Jason Allen, Phillip Ryan Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Ethan Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, Matthew Ferguson and Ella Grace Ferguson; and siblings, William “Peanut” Ferguson of Little River, AL and Elizabeth “Betty” Jones of Tifton, GA; along with other family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne, AL, at 2PM, with Pastor Charlie Stafford officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Ryan Ferguson, Ethan Ferguson, Darrell Melton, Mike Tuttle, Buddy Mims and Jack Myles.
Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
This wonderful man was my Uncle Buster whom I loved so very much! He will be greatly missed by everyone. I can’t recall him ever meeting a stranger. You will be forever in our hearts.
I will greatly miss Buster. He always greeted me with a big warm smile, and made we feel welcomed, and glad to see me. He always acknowledged me, and never left me out. I will always treasure all the fond memories I have of him. I will miss his laugh, and hearing him with my husband Jack. They would carry-on with one another with so many fun, and memorable stories over the years. Stories while hunting, fishing, and hanging out with people they both knew, or were related to. Thank you God for letting me get to know such a wonderful man; that loved his wife, family, and friends. I was blessed to have known him.
