Barbara Ross passed away peacefully at her home on December 11, 2025, at the age of 85.
Barbara was born May 2, 1940, in New York and resided in Daphne, Alabama for the past 25 years. She bravely confronted cancer and kept the faith. She was a travel agent and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She enjoyed planting flowers, travelling, meeting new people and ballroom dancing. She cherished all her friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Jost; and her children, John Jost and Sharon Jost.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Purdy (Keith); daughter-in-law, Wanda Jost; grandson, Shawn Purdy; granddaughters, Michelle Fields and Chelsea Corbin; nieces, Christa Dorrego (Henry) and Lisa Mueller; and her great niece and nephew, Enrique and Sonia Dorrego.
A funeral mass will be held in Barbara’s honor at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1505 Main Street in Daphne, AL, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
