    Dear Mary Beth,

We loved him from the first day we meet him, about 7th grade, with that big long body and his slow smile. We can hear that deep bass voice as if he was sitting at our kitchen table today telling one of his stories. Our hearts are with you and the kids. You have our son down there to help in anyway he can and we could not think of a better guy to be with you.

If you need anything just ask,

    Love,

    Lou and Celine Chapman

Mary Beth, Maeve, Rory and Patrick – Please accept our deepest sympathy on Barry’s loss. I (Pat) remember fondly my introduction to the wonderful circle of friends at the “Mobile” Thanksgiving celebration in Cleveland back in 1997. And Gita and I were honored to be at your wedding in Mobile and then have you be with us when we got married in 2000. We will do our best to be true to Barry’s spirit of life and love and share memories with Maeve, Rory and Patrick. We will be thinking of you all dearly not just in these difficult days but in the months and years ahead.

Gita will be travelling to be with you this weekend. Pat and Liam regret that we will not be able to join you but please know that you are in our hearts.

    With love,

Gita Maitra & Patrick and Liam Shannon

A kinder, more gentler, smarter man I’ve never known. His loss will be felt forever. May you seek comfort in your precious memories of Barry.
Our law firm was blessed to have him albeit for far too short of time

    Marybeth and kids,

There was a time a year or so ago when Scott and I were upset and concerned. I am not even sure that you or Barry would even remember. We stopped by you house, just to drop something off. Without even knowing it, Barry said exactly the right thing to the right people at the right time. We have been so grateful. We really wanted you to know….it wasn’t a huge thing, just a simple moment he had the chance to give people he did not know very well a little kindness.

Please know we are thinking of you. Julie and Scott

What an amazing gift we were given to have Barry in our lives. He brought to us so much humor – mostly at his own expense. He was the best of friend and I am so grateful to have had that friendship extended to all of us over all these years.

We celebrate his life and the wonderful journey he had traveled; his impressive education, successful career, but most important his beautiful family. His time was cut way too short and we are so sad for that.

God Bless Mary Beth, Rory, Maeve and Patrick – we are always here for you.

    Love,
Maile, Lou, Louis, Peyton and Daniel
