Ethel Belinda Brent Aikens, a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 5, 2025, at the age of 76.
Belinda was a 1967 graduate of Davidson High School in Mobile. She went on to attend Troy State University, where she was a member of ФM Phi Mu Sorority and earned a BS Degree in Secretarial Sciences. Belinda taught for several years in various business schools. But her focus was always on raising her two young children. She met and married Butch Aikens in 1982.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Elbert Brent and her sister, Martha Kay Carlson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Walter “Butch” Aikens; her two children, Misti Leigh Anderson (Chad) of Newport, NC and Clifford Brent Helms (Melissa) of Leakesville, MS; her grandchildren, Savannah and Alison Anderson and Ethan and Lily Helms; her siblings, Joyce Agee, Joan Henderson and John Brent; her Find Us Faithful Sunday School Class from Jubilee Baptist Church; longtime friend, Sharon McCaskill; and her loving baby dog, Pepper.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, from 5:30-7:30PM. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile, AL.
