Betty Sue Overton Anderson, 82, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Betty retired after 25 years from Mobile County License Inspector/Commissioners Office, where she was also a Notary Public.  She was also a graduate of 20th Century Business College.  After retirement, among her accomplishments were obtaining her Real Estate License, and her CDL license! She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to ballroom dance.  She loved the outdoors and spent as much time outside as she could.  In her last years, she loved shopping and always for a bargain! She even volunteered her time working at St. Paul’s Thrift Store in Daphne.  She cherished the time spent each year at Christmas with her kids who always came to visit.

Betty  was preceded in death by her parents, John “Jake” Overton and Emma Susie (Schultz) Overton; infant son, Donnie Keith Anderson; sister, Nell Jones and brothers, Lum Overton and Roy Overton.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise (Terry) Glidewell of Flint, TX; one granddaughter, Jennifer Glidewell Colleps (Jeremy) of Forney, TX; two great-grandchildren, Austin Colleps and Haley Colleps; and great-great granddaughter, Kenleigh Horton, all of Forney, TX; siblings, Regina Williams of Hawkinsville, GA, Annie Young of Grove Hill, AL and Billy Overton of Grove Hill, AL; nieces, nephews and special neighbors and friends, Helen and Buddy Blair.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, at 11AM.  There will be a time of visitation before the service beginning at 10:30AM.
