Bryant Gilreath Evans, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully in his home on September 14, 2026. He was born in Florence, Alabama on February 2, 1938, and lived in Mobile the majority of his life before retiring to Spanish Fort.
Bryant was a man of few words but many talents. He was a gifted craftsman and woodworker, a car mechanic, a landscape artist, a small engine repairman, an electrician, a plumber, and a musician. There was almost nothing he could not fix, build, or create with just a handful of tools. He treasured time spent with his family and loved going out to eat with his friends he met upon moving to the Eastern Shore.
Bryant is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shannon Evans; his children, Bryant Jeffrey Evans of Citronelle, Alabama and Jennifer (Oliver) Sinclair of Spanish Fort, Alabama; his grandsons, Ollie and Spencer Sinclair, who he was immensely proud of; and his beloved dog, Josie, whose picture he carried in his wallet and shared with everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Louise Evans.
The family is profoundly grateful to Family First Caregivers for providing such comforting and devoted care to Bryant during his final months.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church, 31122 US Hwy 31, Spanish Fort, AL 36527. A reception will follow the ceremony at the home of Oliver and Jennifer Sinclair. All are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bryant’s memory to the Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter. Donations may be made online at https://fomaspets.org/donate or mailed to P.O. Box 81745, Mobile, Alabama 36689.

Stacy, thank you for this sweet tribute. Our family is so grateful to you. We would not have made it through those last few days without you being there and taking care of my dad. Thank you for also being such a good friend and companion for my mom. You gave her a lot of company and fellowship during the time that you were there and that was just as important as you taking care of my dad.
Bryant was a sweet and gentle man. He had a beautiful family, May God comfort and bless them
