Charles Monroe “Chuck” Saunders, Jr., a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away after a long, hard fought health battle on April 25, 2026, at the age of 61.

Chuck was a graduate of Satsuma High School.  He worked at Searcy Hospital for many years in the Maintenance Department.  Later, he was employed with Wal-Mart in the Stocking Department.

Chuck loved the water! Whether it was fishing off the bank of the home he grew up in, on the creek/pond with his brother-in-law and cousins or just enjoying a day on Dauphin Island. He also loved his fur-babies, Harley and Angel, were not just his dogs, but loyal and loving companions, that he adored.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bubba” Saunders, Sr. and Peggy Bailey Saunders; and his grandparents, Mixon and Lucille Bailey and Robert “Bob” Saunders and Christine Saunders.

He is survived by his caring and loving significant other, Ashley Butler; his sister, Lori (Mike) Taylor; his nieces, Amanda (Shane) Kyser and Jessica (William) Weaver; great-nephews, Cade Andrews and Holdyn Weaver; great-niece, Judy Maxon; his aunt, Gwen Saunders, the one he called when he needed Godly advice, prayer or someone to confide in; as well as many aunts and uncles, lots of cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the hospice care team at Gentiva Hospice, who took such great care of Chuck.

A gathering to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 2PM, at his sister and brother-in-law’s home. (For more information you can call 251-259-7547)
