Charles “Sonny” Nathaniel Feaster, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 10, 2023.
Sonny was born on July 3, 1936, in Monroe County, Alabama to Nathan and Lizzie Mae Feaster. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Autrey Feaster; his daughters, Roxane Feaster Anthony (Steve) and Monica Feaster Jones (Alan); his grandchildren, Ashley Hendrix Balius (Jason), Alan Nathaniel Jones (Shawna) and John Ross Jones (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Locklin, Maddox, Nate, and Alana; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Cleveland Feaster, his daughter, Kelly Anne Feaster and many close friends and family.
Sonny served in the United States Army as a Private First-Class Military Police Officer, stationed in New Mexico for 3 years. After serving his Country, he began his career as an ALFA Insurance Agent. For 31 years, he worked in the insurance business and was recognized as the National Top Sales Agent for many of those years. As a matter of fact, he’s a member of the Alfa Hall of Fame. He took great pride in his work. His co-workers would always be ready for one of Sonny’s jokes or pranks. Having a good laugh every day was good for the soul and made working with Sonny always enjoyable. Sonny retired in 1995 to move to Josephine, Alabama.
Throughout the years he was always active and involved in his church, teaching Sunday school and serving on various committees. One of his passions was mission trips. He made 14 trips to Romania leading the Romanian American Mission to provide medical care and Christian teachings to the underprivileged people of that country. Not only was he active in Christian organizations but he was a member of the Masons and Kiwanis Club and volunteered for many charitable events.
Sonny had a strong Christian faith. Starting his day with early morning devotions and ending the day on his knees in prayer. Even when his health was declining you would often hear him say, “God is good.” Sonny loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and Alabama Football!!
If you knew Sonny, you knew he was a HUGE Bear Bryant and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He would NEVER miss an Alabama football game. Ask Ashley about a dental crisis on a Saturday in Birmingham. ROLL TIDE!!!!
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26909 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL. The Celebration of Life Service for Sonny will begin at 3:00pm.

Sonny liked to laugh. He laughed a lot,
bringing joy to those in his presence. That is how we will remember him.
A very good friend for many years, he will be missed.
We enjoyed him as a neighbor. I can recall Halloween when he dressed up and scared the kids. They loved it and he did, too. It was always a fun time.
We hated when they moved.
My condolences to his loved ones.
An authentic Christian gentleman and a valued friend! He was so helpful to me in the early years of my ministry and provided wise and practical counsel and advice.
Bigdaddy, as friends of Ashley knew him was like another grandfather to all of us! prayers for the family❤️
Such sweet memories…worked with him many years.
Prayers and love to the family.
My neighbor for a few years and friend for many. Roll Tide up there, Sonny!!
