Charles Thomas Harlan

August 18, 1957 - January 6, 2019


Charles Thomas Harlan, a native of Warner Robbins, Georgia and a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at University Hospital at the age of 61.

Charles was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from the maintenance department with the Mobile County School System.  Charles was always happy, and you never saw him without a smile on his face.  He was such a loving and caring man, who loved his family and he especially loved his grandbabies.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Ables and Albert Harlan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ruth M. Harlan; his children, Joshua Harlan and Kimberly Harlan, both of Mobile; his grandchildren, Mike, Ireland, C.J., Caidon and Carter; two siblings, Don Harlan (Lisa) of Mobile and Margaret Moore (Jim) of Florida; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, February 10, 2019 at Odd Fellows Hall in Irvington, AL.  Expressions of condolence for the family may be made at  Arrangements by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Mobile, AL 36526.
