Charles “Pewee” Troy Dyche, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle of lung cancer that he managed with grace and courage, on April 3, 2016 in Fairhope, AL. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Charles was a native of Greenville, MS but resided in Daphne, AL for the last 8 years. He is an Army Vet who served and protected his country in the Vietman War. He had a tremendous love for fishing, hunting, and sports. He enjoyed all of these things with his family and friends. Anyone who knew Charles knew he never met a stranger, was a genuine great man, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He always lived by and instilled in his children the saying, “Treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO.” Charles will always be remembered for his contagious smile, huge heart, big bear hugs, infectious laugh, and generous spirit. He was one of a kind and missed dearly by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Troy Dyche, Sr. and Frances Jeanette Dyche and his brother, Michael Wayne Dyche.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Yvonne Dyche; children, Kourtney (Josh) Sligh of Mendenhall, MS, Shawn Moose of Greenville, MS, Ereka Dyche, Brittany (JR) Lamb, Chad Dyche and Caleb Dyche all of Daphne; grandkids, Christian Webber, Blayne and Kayden Moose, Maddie Sligh, Cohen Dyche, Easton Jones, and Harper Lamb; siblings, Sharon (Mike) Pennock, Brenda Dyche, and Scottie (Jocelyn) Suddoth. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

The family of Charles Dyche acknowledges with sincere thanks and appreciation, the many prayers, visits, meals, calls, cards, flowers, and many acts of kindness shown during our bereavement. Thank you to our community for their overwhelming support throughout Charles’s illness. Thanks to his loving and devoted aid, Jackie, who was there to the very end. May God continue to bless you all.

Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Coastal Church, 11101 Co. Rd. 64, Daphne, AL, with visitation beginning an hour prior to the service. Committal service will be held at 12:30pm at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.

Brenda and Sharon. I am sorry for the loss of your brother Charles. Of course for me and others from the old nieghborhood he is better remembered as Pewee. We tend to lose personal connections as we get older but the times shared as children growing up seem to be ever present. May god bless you and yours. Jim.

My deepest condolences Yvonne and family. I’m sorry to hear of Charles passing. He sounds like a very kind loving man who also enjoyed hunting and fishing as much as this Dyche family. I only wish we had also chance to met him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time.
