Claudette Kinder

Tribute

Claudette Kinder, 80, surrounded by family members and a caring staff at The Brennity, lost her battle to a pulmonary disease on July 28, 2019.  Claudette, born on February 14, 1939, is now with her Lord.

She was a devoted mother who enjoyed her family.  She drove throughout the southeast, hauling her girls and their horses to shows. Claudette taught elementary school for 25 years.  She earned a BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida, and then a master’s degree in education. In her retirement years she enjoyed cruising the world, even a trip to Antarctica to visit her beloved penguin.

Claudette was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mabel Hayes (Gibson) and her devout and faithful husband, Norvin Kinder.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia and Susan; and her son, John.  Claudette is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Heather Jessica, Steven, and Zachary, and her great-granddaughters Lauren, Aislinn, Olive, Hallie, Mazie, Maggie, and Scarlett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church, 22250 US-90, in Robertsdale, AL. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

    I worked with Mrs. Kinder at Ensley Elementary. She gave me awesome advice to help me be a successful speech therapist. She loved her students and they loved her. I will always have fond memories of Mrs. Kinder.
