Colleen was blessed with a host of nieces and nephews who brought much joy, love, and fun to her life.; as well as many lifetime friends that she so treasured.

Colleen was a true Southern Belle. She always dressed in great style and was always a perfect hostess.  She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile and grew up attending Dauphin Way Baptist Church.  Her marriage to an airline pilot instilled a passion for travel all over the world.  She loved flying so much, that she got her own private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying with her husband and daughter back and forth from Atlanta to Mobile.  At one point she even owned her own Cessna Aircraft!  Colleen was a resolute volunteer for 15 years with the Red Cross, and as a school tour guide at the Atlanta Airport with the Eastern Airlines Pilots Wives Club, and also at her daughter’s high school.  She was an avid snow skier, sailor and loved a good Mardi Gras Ball!

Colleen managed Aubrey’s Women’s Boutique in Sandy Springs, Georgia for several years.  She then embarked on a new 20-year career in the fragrance industry.  Working as a representative for Bijan, Versace, Annick Goutal, and lastly Bulgari, she always smelled marvelous!

I was truly honored to had been Mrs. Colleen nurse for the past 3 years. She had a smile that would light up a dark room. I will never forget us having a Dr. Pepper and a piece of chocolate together every morning. Even though my heart is hurting, I know I will see her again.

  2. Barbara Bridges

I never met your Mother, but loved talking with you about her. She left a wonderful legacy of friends and mostly a loving daughter. I can see her in you. My prayers are for you, your family and all who loved Colleen.

I am so saddened to learn of Colleen’s passing. She was a treasured next door neighbor for the 16 years I lived at River Place. We shared many laughs and a few tears during those years. My deepest condolences to Jennifer and her family.

I grew up next door to Colleen, John and my best childhood friend, Jennifer. We share so many wonderful times together. Colleen and her family have always been, and forever will be, how I identify and remember my childhood . I love you forever, Jennifer.

Colleen was so adorable and vivacious! She had a smile that was contagious! She loved life and her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter. She was just fun to be with and I have nice memories of her through her sisters and mother. Her parents were wonderful people and were friends of my mother’s family from the time they were young people so the Cook family was like family to us!

I know all of the family are happy that she is now released from this world to a heavenly home with all of her loved ones who are waiting for her to join them.

Colleen was a beautiful woman who loved a good party and was a wonderful hostess
When Jennifer and I became friends I found that she and Colleen and John made me feel like family too
There were so many times when we were going out we
would end up at Colleens house at any time of the day or night and we were always welcomed with “you girls come on in”.
It was so much fun and she
welcomed us at any time as we
    might show up unannounced
She would always laugh and even applaud our antics
Once she helped us to get ready for a costume party we
    were going to for Halloween
We had much more fun getting ready with Colleen than when we got to the actual party
It was always such a happy time when we got together
My husband Bill and I even got married in her house at River Place
I was one of the proud recipients of her perfumes. We all smelled so good
We will miss you Colleen and we will see you in Heaven
I know you’ll be there to welcome us in no matter what time we arrive
    Love you sweetheart
