Craig Douglas Rhodes, Sr., age 80, a long-time resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020.
Craig was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and is of the Catholic Faith. He is a lifetime member of the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) General Galvez Chapter in Mobile, AL, the Scottish Clan Ross, and the Mobile Genealogical Society. Craig was a member of the Greeno Masonic Lodge, a past president of Belles & Beaus Square Dance Club and was the first president and founder of Eastern Shore Recovery Foundation. He earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science from WM & Mary Norfolk, VA Extension which is now Old Dominion University. Craig retired from Aker Solutions as the Sr. Cost Controller, was the owner of Union Mission Cemetery and Fintastic Pet Store.
Craig is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Flowers Rhodes; ex-wife, Patricia Phillippe Padilla; and his parents, Clem Oliver and Mary Detterman Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife, Mahail Rhodes; brother, Clem (Faye) Rhodes of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Anita Simon of Virginia Beach, VA; sons, Craig D. Rhodes, Jr. of Lilburn, GA and Scott Rhodes of Gonzales, TX; one step-son, James Deese of Semmes, AL; seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service and dinner celebrating Craig’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. June 19, 2020 Friday evening at Common Ground, 8162 Well Rd., Daphne, AL, 36526.
