It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Darrell Ray Taylor Jr., born July 19, 1989. Darrell tragically passed away on Saturday evening, September 12, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
Darrell was a loving son, brother, family member, friend, and coworker. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his two beloved dogs, Jet and Maggie, playing video games, getting tattoos, and, most of all, being surrounded by his family and friends. Darrell had a special place in the hearts of countless people who were blessed to know him.
Darrell worked for Barnhart Crane and Rigging as a crane operator alongside his father, Darrell Ray Taylor Sr. His dedication to his work and the time spent working beside his dad were a meaningful part of his life.
Darrell is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Loftin; his father, Darrell Ray Taylor Sr.; his stepmother, Carrie Ann Taylor; his sisters, Brooke, Leanna, Kaley, and Courtney; his brothers, Michael, Christopher, and Ethan; his aunt, Donna; his cousin, Douglas; his loving girlfriend, Storii; his nieces and nephews; and countless other family members and many best friends who loved him dearly, as he loved them.
Darrell is now home in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, reunited with his grandparents, his cousin Alec, his dog Chop, and other beloved family members and friends who went before him.
Though our hearts are broken by his sudden passing, we will forever cherish the memories, laughter, love, and moments we shared with Darrell. His life touched so many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
We also want to take this time to thank all the first responders from multiple counties in Alabama and Mississippi who responded to the accident.
A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at his father’s home in Wilmer, Alabama. Family, friends, and coworkers are invited to come together to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of our beloved Darrell.
Until we meet again, Darrell. You are forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
