Deirdre JoAnn Sappington was born March 25, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio to John & Ann Douglas Sappington.  On Friday, December 20, 2019, Deirdre’s time on Earth came to an end & she returned to the arms of the Lord & was reunited with her parents & her brother who preceded her in death. Deirdre worked for Bender’s Shipbuilding for twenty-four years as a database administrator.

Deirdre JoAnn Sappington was born March 25, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio to John & Ann Douglas Sappington.  On Friday, December 20, 2019, Deirdre’s time on Earth came to an end & she returned to the arms of the Lord & was reunited with her parents & her younger foster brother, B. Lamar Brantley “Jimmy” Sappington.

The second pride in Deirdre’s life was her time as the director of Community Outreach at TJ Maxx. She enjoyed finding different organizations in the community to serve. Some examples were the SAIL Program through the City of Daphne’s Senior Center, The “Forgotten Initiative”, & the Boys & Girl’s Club. Deirdre was always looking for an outlet to serve her community.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 until 3:00pm, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Rd. in Daphne. Deirdre will be laid to rest during a private graveside ceremony.

Funeral services were entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne, AL. The family wishes to thank them for their dignified services during this difficult time. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.

    God Bless this sweet lady and her family. So blessed to have known her and have her daughters as friends of mine. This amazing lady showed her light that God gave her while she was on this earth. Now she is dancing and is safe in the arms of Jesus. God Bless this sweet and loving family during this difficult time.
