Delores Tew Turbeville, age 88 passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Delores was raised in Mobile, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Daphne, Alabama. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, James Dawson “Dick” Turbeville; her parents, Thomas and Margie Tew; her brothers, Tommy and Dennie Tew.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Liz) Tew of Barnwell, AL; her three sons, Kenneth Richard “Ricky” (Linda) Turbeville of Mobile, AL, James Bradley “Brad” Turbeville and Mark David (Ashley) Turbeville both of Whitehouse Fork, AL; four grandsons Matt (Lisa) Turbeville and David Turbeville both of Daphne, AL, Darek (Kat) Priddy, Lester, AL and Mikel Greathouse, Waynesboro, TN; two great grandchildren Layla and Madelyn Priddy both of Lester, AL and special friend, Ralph Washam of Barnwell, AL; other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and her nurse Tammy Robinson. In addition, the family would like to thank the caregivers for their love, compassion and friendship during Delores’s final days. The following ladies were true angels and the family appreciates the care and love you gave Delores during this time. Demetria Burgess, Darlene Bell, Luciana Jordan, Shantonio Pettaway, Christina Thomas and Yolanda Wilson. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Hughes Funeral Home from 2:00-3:00pm. Graveside service will be held at Belforest Catholic Cemetery at 3:30pm. Pallbearers will be Jerry Tew, Ralph Washman, Ricky Turbeville, Brad Turbeville, Mark Turbeville and Clinton Jackson. Honorary Pall Bearers are Kent Turbeville and Otis Phillips. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your charity of choice or your local no kill animal shelter. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
