Dianne Mills York, was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 24, 1942. Her family moved to Jackson, Mississippi shortly thereafter and she was raised by her grandparents in Jackson, Tennessee until her teenage years. Diane moved to Mobile, Alabama as a young teen and graduated from Theodore High School Class of 1960. She loved playing tennis and golf and was a ballroom dancer. She is preceded in death by first husband until his death in 1996, James Henry Mills (Rusty), III; father, Edgar Wilkens; Mother, Delores Ferguson; son, Timothy Mills.
Current husband, David Alan York; children of James and Dianne Mills, Kristie Deane and Amanda Mills; stepson, Kenneth York; grandchildren, Sarah Pierce, Emily Pierce, Leonardo (Leo) Deane, Lauren Deane, Maxwell Mills, Cora York and Ada York.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Coastal Church, 11101 County Road 64, Daphne, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite cancer research facility. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Diane and I became friends when she and her sweet mother were patients of mine at Dr Bailey’s dental office. She and I both loved tennis and knew each other on the courts as well. So sorry to hear of her death. She was a sweet and caring person.
