Dick Allen Murphree, age 79, a long time resident of Daphne, AL passed away Friday, April 18, 2014.  Dick is a veteran of the United States Air Force and had worked at American Home Products in medical sales. He graduated from Troy State University and played clarinet professionally and locally at church. He was a member of Spanish Fort Methodist Church. In his spare time he loved to go fishing and was a huge fan of Alabama football.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorothy Murphree of Daphne, AL; son, Rex (Mary Ann) Logan of Loxley, AL; daughter, Amy Logan of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am, Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery. 34904 Alabama Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527. Rev. Keith Johnson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetic Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or your favorite charity. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory in Daphne. 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.

    I am just learning of Buddy’s passing, wish I had known. I have peace in knowing dad and Buddy are back together.
