How do you sum up a relationship with someone you’ve known since you were 15?

Someone that you were a crazy teenager with

Someone that was with you when you got married

Was there for you when you had your babies

Was there for you when they got married

Was there for you when they had babies

Dottie has been with me every step of the way! I know I must talk to her everyday, because this week I have started many conversations with her in my mind, just to realize it won’t be ever said out loud to her!

      She was my sounding board
      She was My confidant
      She was my cohort
      She was my travel buddy
      She was my sister
      She was my friend!

Dorthy Jean (not her middle name) I love you, 51 years of friendship just wasn’t enough! I miss you,and one day I will see you again!!

This is a huge loss, not to just me, but her precious son,and family! Dottie had many friends. She touched the lives of many! She will be greatly missed!

My heart ached upon hearing of Dottie’s passing. Far too soon. I hate we dont get to make those decisions. She will always be remembered as incredibly kind. Always, always smiling.

And to her entire loving family, a favorite quote from Helen Keller that I love:

“What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”

      My love to all.

    Dearest Dearest Dottie,

What we would not give for one more “Hammer Time” with you. So full of life, fun, tenderness, intelligence, love for others, friendship, talent, bravery, beauty and so much more.

May you be in the arms of Jesus and all that you need and deserve.

God Speed. In our thoughts and hearts forever.

That was one of the “most fun” cruises!– Dottie was at the top of her game! I just can’t believe she didn’t throw one of us overboard!
