In Loving Memory
October 6, 1957 – August 12, 2014
James Douglas Etheridge, 56, born in Tuscaloosa, AL and a longtime resident of Daphne, passed away August 12, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side. He was a graduate of Brookwood High School and the University of Alabama. Doug was employed by the Baldwin County Board of Education as an Attendance officer, but also served as a coach and teacher at Fairhope High School for twenty seven years. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of twenty nine years, Patty Etheridge; two sons, Br. Christopher Bragg Etheridge and Cody Hamilton Etheridge; his parents, Charles and Sue Etheridge and his brother, Craig Etheridge and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Matthew J. O’Connor. Burial will follow in Belforest Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
Pallbearers will be, Mike Fillingim, Drew Corley, Stuart Fuller, Ralph Watson, Mike Nix and Joe Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Bill Martiniere, Joey Cain, Ryan Fillingim, Michael Fillingim, Mike Price, Randy White, Tim Lazzari, Phillip Webb, Danny Beebe and Steve Sims. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Doug’s memory to the Institute of the Incarnate Word, 5706 Sargent Rd., Chillum, MD, 20782.
