I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Etheridge. I have, however, heard many people speak about him in such a way that I knew he was a good man. He must have been a great inspiration to those around him.
God bless you Mrs. Etheridge and your family.

In Doug we have lost a great example of how to live in a way that glorifies God. Doug had a servant’s heart and was a friend to all. He and his family have shown us how to bravely face death and disease with grace and faith. We have been blessed and we are now left to be a blessing to others. The Wall family, including Boo and Dakota, grieve with you and wish you comfort and peace.
I will miss Doug and his kind spirit. He worked with me as our attendance officer at Spanish Fort Middle. He had a difficult job but worked with the students with kindness and compassion. It was never “just a job” to
Doug. Blessings to Doug’s family. Truly, I wish you comfort and peace.
Doug was such a kind man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Always a blessing to be with Doug and Patty Etheridge. Patty, you are an inspiration to my children. Frankly, I think they never will forget you.
Doug and Patty were always so kind to us as we moved to the South from Maine. Thank you for that.
Your family is continuously in our prayers.
Tim, Gretchen, Maddy, & Michael
Coach Etheridge, I extend my sincerest condolences to you and your family. May the Holy Spirit comfort you all like only He can. I love you!
The memory if Doug will live on forever in the hearts of so many that loved him. Live you all Patty, Brag, Cody and family. Always praying for you.
Patty we have such great memories of Doug and watching the Fairhope girls basketball games. He was such a positive influence. He really meant a lot to Maggie during her years on the team. He will be greatly missed by many. Sorry we are out of town and will not be at the wake or funeral, but our prayers and love are with you and the boys.
Patty,
Deborh and I are sincerely heartbroken for you and your family. Doug has been an outstanding ambassador for girls sports in Baldwin County. His passing will be such a loss for the many students
he has taught or coached. He was greatly respected by all the teachers, coaches, and administrators throughout the state. I considered Doug as one of the good guys for kids.
Although we are away at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with you, the boys, and family.
Love,
Barry and Deborah
Patty, Bragg, and Cody,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. Doug was loved and will be missed by so many people. His legacy lives on in the many students and educators whose lives he impacted so positively.

Doug has always been a blessing to everyone he knew…
Throughout our elementary, high school and college days together, he looked out for his friends best interest. He will be forever remembered as being more concerned for others, than himself.
Rest in Heaven my dear, sweet friend.
Much love to you Patty, Bragg and Cody…
(Brookwood High School Class of 1976)
Doug was a wonderful man inside and out. Patty was blessed with 29 wonderful years. We love you Patty and you are in our prayers. May God Bless you and your family!

I still think about Coach 20 years after playing on his JV basketball team. (Go Pirates!) He was a great coach, filled with words of wisdom, (React, don’t think!), and he was stern and effective, yet caring and kind. To the Etheridge family: Coach touched the lives of so many young ladies like myself at Fairhope High School, and he will not be forgotten. Love to you all.
He left an emptiness in our lives! Going to miss making you laugh! We’ll handle the students for you. You fought a great battle. Will miss you, Dough. Have a great time on the Streets of Gold!
What a fine example Doug set for us all.
God’s peace for Patty and the entire family
What a wonderful man, husband, father, and son! Doug Etheridge will be missed by many students, parents, and friends. Doug’s legacy and memories will last forever in many of our hearts and lives. He and his precious wife, Patty passed my path many years ago. They say that people are not put in your lives by mistake and that they all cross your path for a reason. Thank you Patty, Bragg, and Cody for sharing Doug with so many. May the special memories that y’all made throughout the years, give you comfort as you go on.
Patty,
We are so sorry for you loss.
Our prayers are with you and your family.
