Douglas Wayne Benefiel, age 80, and a resident of Daphne, AL died August 27, 2022.  Mr. Benefiel was born January 11, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN. 

Mr. Benefiel was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Marion and Anna Marie Benefiel; brother, Benjamin Franklin Benefiel and his grandson, Mitchell Kristian Woolsey.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Grandy Benefiel; children, Tammy (Max) of Fairhope, AL; Pam (Charlie) of Martinsville, IN and Tony (Cheryl)of Ocala, FL. He also has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his sister, Marcia Ann Marvin of Cary, NC; brother-in-law, Reggie Grandy of Indianapolis, IN and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of his life will be on Oct. 22, 2022 in Jacksonville Beach, FL.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in memory of Douglas Wayne Benefiel may be made to the Mayo Clinic for brain cancer research at https://philanthrophy.mayoclinic.org/donatemc.
