Earl L. Hershberger, 86, formerly of Gulf Breeze, died quietly at his home in Daphne, AL on March 6, 2022.
Earl was born to Olive (Metzgar) and George Hershberger on September 12, 1935, and was the last surviving sibling of Melvin, Glenn and Janet (Korber). Earl was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and served in the US Army post Korea, and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a BA in Economics. Earl’s career was in the grocery business as a buyer with various food supply chains. Earl served on many church committees, as an elder, and was a past President of the Congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola. He was a lifelong Lutheran and was currently a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Daphne. Earl enjoyed Bible studies, being outside in his yard, and was an accomplished wood worker.
He was always a devoted husband and family man. Earl was a quiet man who persevered through life and never complained. Yes, Dad, we will “be careful.”

Uncle Earl, you will be missed greatly. As a child I was always excited to go to your house. My fondest memories are of the time we got to make those wooden guns that shot rubber bands with you. Thank you for making a kid’s time with his uncle fun and memorable. Love your nephew David
We will always remember Earl’s kindness to us and quick wit. Our prayers are with you Jean, Beth and Mary.
With Love,
Tom and Crista
