Elizabeth “Betty” Wilson

Tribute

Elizabeth “Betty” Lou Wilson, a native of Daytona Beach, FL and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away on July 10, 2022, at the age of 86.

Betty was a retired nurse.  She was an animal lover and especially loved dogs.  She was a preacher’s wife and was very active in her church.  She loved her family and loved being a grandmother to her four grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Miley, Sr. and Elizabeth Miley; brothers, Frank Miley and Harold Miley; and her aunt/surrogate mother, Kansas Kirk.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George Wilson; children, Leann (Kevin) Cassibry of Fairhope, AL and Glenn Wilson of Washington, GA; four grandchildren that she adored, Lindsay Cassibry, Wilson (Natalie) Cassibry, Bryan Wilson and Eric Wilson, and their mother, Jill Wilson; niece Sharon Alamalhodaei; and nephews, Danny Miley, George Van Voorhis and Ed Van Voorhis; along with other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL, at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Baldwin County Humane Society at www.baldwinhumane.org.

    Everyone who knew Aunt Betty loved her. Uncle George was her lifelong love and she, his. Aunt Betty was quick witted, down to earth and loved her family and animals. Aunt Betty you will be sorely missed. Say hi to my dad and mom for me xoxoxo I will love you forever.
