What a talented and energetic lady Ethel was. I first got to know her when I married her nephew, Johnny Miller. Ethel helped plan and cater our reception. I was so impressed by how active she always was, a trait she passed along to her daughters. She was an avid gardener, and we traded plants over the years. I think of her every Spring when the irises bloom in my water garden. Her talents extended to the kitchen. I still make some of the recipes she passed along: a squash and cornbread casserole that continues to delight; and a peach cobbler my priest said was the best cobbler he’d ever eaten. She leaves a legacy of energy and creativity that impressed everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed.

Claudia, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Mother. She and your Daddy were always fun to be around, outgoing, friendly couple. Like I told Terri, it’s sad to see this generation passing away. They made our community special. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Sanca. ❤️

I am so sorry to hear the news about your momma Claudia. Mrs. Sanca was a beautiful, wonderful, loving, caring, kind person. I will always love her and miss her. I will always cherish the memories I have of her. I can still hear her telling me she loved me. I was so Blessed to have had her in my life. She loved her family dearly and she was so loved by us all.

It’s so curious: One can resist tears and ‘behave’ very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer… and everything collapses.
