Floyd Leon Kerns, Sr., 74, a resident of Mobile and native of Sacramento, CA, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home.  He was a veteran of the US Navy and worked as an upholsterer for many years.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Delvin Ronald Kerns and Genevieve Davis Kerns, his brother, Troy Kerns and his granddaughter, Sarah Marie Riley.

 Surviving are his wife, Jena D. Kerns, Mobile and his seven children, Cindy Figgins (John), Sacramento, CA, Floyd Leon Kerns, Jr., Boise, ID, Brenda Johnson, Sacramento, CA,  Jeff Kerns (Katrina), Roseville, CA, Jim Riley (Amy), Rockport, TX, Jay Riley, Hopkinsville, KY and Dewayne Riley, Mobile;   his brother, Ronald Kerns; two sisters, Dorothy Seriva, Rio Linda, CA and Arlene Schneiderite, San Diego, CA; twenty five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.  The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. John Wilson, Dr. Terry Wilsdorf, Dr. Thomas McGee, Dr. Maher Sahawneh, Dr. Michael Damrich, Dr. John Russell and Dr. Daniel Cameron.

 A memorial service will be held at 12:00noon on November 9, 2013 at Azalea Hills Christian Church, 9191 Cottage Hill Rd. in Mobile.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, 1660 Springhill Ave, Mobile, AL 36604.  Expressions of condolence may be made at hughesfh.com.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home & Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.
