Floyd Nelson Barnett, of Daphne, AL, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the age of 86. Floyd was born on August 16, 1936, in Perry County, Alabama.
Nelson was a graduate of Suttle High School and attended Troy State University for two years and the University of Alabama for one year. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Vera Barnett, sister, Judith Webb, brother, Everette Barnett, and grandson, Allen Stone.
Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nell Barnett; children, Jackie (Roger) Stone of Selma, AL, Steve (Shana) Barnett and Larry Barnett; grandchildren, Ryan (Meredith) Stone, Wesley (Arlene) Stone, Clint Barnett, Julianna Barnett and Ford Barnett; great-grandchildren, Avery Stone, Carter Stone and Grayson Stone; his fur-babies, Oreo and Abbey; along with other family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Jubilee Baptist Church, 9264 Pleasant Road in Daphne, at 11AM. There will be a time of visitation before the service beginning at 10AM.
