Frances Winifred Smith Kellam, 96, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on June Monday, 16, 2025 in Fairhope, AL. She was born in Calvert, Alabama on April 16, 1929, to Dan and Emma Smith. 

Frances married Earl Kellam, Sr. in 1945 and maintained a long-term residence in Huntsville, Alabama. Together, Frances and Earl travelled to many cities in the United States and the world.  They were very active in the Church of the Nazarene. She was involved in teaching Sunday school and went on many church-sponsored mission trips with her husband. They also sponsored numerous international children to help them complete their education through high school.

Frances was an avid reader (Harlequin will now have to lay people off), wonderful homemaker, cook and writer, and she even published one cookbook.

After her husband passed away, she moved to Daphne, Alabama to be near her son.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Kellam, Sr.; her sisters, June Jarrell, Betty Bailey Blount, Emma Jean Bailey; and her daughter, Beverly Sue Hamby.

Her memory will be honored by her son, Earl Kellam, Jr. (Connie); and her brother, D.O. Smith, Jr. (Barbara).  She also leaves two grandchildren, Kimberli Hart (Marshall) and Earl Kellam, III (Amy); eight great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/
