Frances McCullar Russell, age 51 and a native of Tuscaloosa and resident of Wilmer, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at a local hospital.
Frances was the curator of the Mobile Zoo and a great lover of all animals.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Claybern McCullar, her husband, Michael Earl Russell, her grandparents, Hugh and Helen McCullar and father-in-law, Edward Russell.
Survivors include her daughter, Ashley Acton of Semmes; her mother, Adell Hunt McCullar of Greensboro, NC; 2 sisters, Mary Newby of Greensboro and Denise M. Murphy of Moible; 2 brothers, John B. Webster of Birmingham, AL and Robert H. Webster of Gulf Breeze, FL; 2 grandchildren, Michael Robert Acton and Jazmyn Emillia Acton. Also there are several nieces and nephews, Jennifer Everly, Lara Brewer, Daniel Webster, Erin Christine Murphy, Margarette Dietz, Hunter Cardwell; a cousin, Arden Szepe; mother-in-law, Betty Russell; sisters-in-law, Robin Russell and Sandra George; brothers-in-law, Scott Russell and Rusty Russell; step-daughter, Amber Highter; close friends, Brandy Elliott, Katy Culbreth, Charlotte Marchant, John Ross Thomas, Jr. and Bonnie Smith and other friends.
A Celebration of Life service to remember Frances will be held at a later time at St. Pius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to your local Humane Society.
