Geoffrey R. Vosen

November 7, 1973 - July 18, 2023


It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Geoffrey Ryan Vosen, of Mobile, AL on July 16, 2023.  He was born in Hillsboro, WI on November 7, 1973, the youngest child of Robert and Anita Vosen of LaFarge, WI. 

Geoff graduated high school from Bay Springs, MS.  He was active in sports and 4H, earning many awards showing Limousin cattle.  He attended Holmes Community College, University of Wisconsin – Madison, and Mississippi State University.  Geoff excelled in the automotive industry as a service writer and service manager; he possessed the innate ability to listen to your problem vehicle, and without error, diagnose the issue.  His career was spent assisting customers in Birmingham, Scottsboro, Huntsville, and Mobile, AL.   Geoffrey never met a stranger.  We will all miss his sweet and charming presence.

Geoff was preceded in death by his father, Robert P Vosen; brother, Dennis P. Vosen; brother-in-law, Ricky Harrison; his grandparents, Peter & Katherine Vosen and Benedict & Elsie Kraemer.  He is survived by his mother, Anita (Kraemer) Vosen of Scottsboro, AL; siblings, Lynne (Wayne) Clark, Poynette, WI, Lisa (Bernie) Jernander, Reedsburg, WI, Laura Harrison, Brooksville, MS, Thomas (Robin) Vosen, Perdido Key, FL. And William (Lisa) Vosen, Fairhope, AL.  Geoff is further survived by his Aunt Maggie Volk, Uncle Raymond (Richard Olson) Kraemer, Aunt Edna Kraemer; sister-in-law, Michelle Lamb-Vosen; and his favorite nieces and nephews, Sean, Chelsea, Aaron, Josef, Katherine, Carly, Benjamin, Zackary, Bobbye, Kelsey, Alex, Kyle, Avery, Ashlyn, Megan, and Jack; his dear friend, Amanda Peach and her son, Parker Peach; and dozens of cousins.  Above all, Geoff loved being part of his large & loving family.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday August 25, 2023, 11:00 AM at St Jude’s Catholic Church, 17205 AL Hwy. 35, Scottsboro, AL 35768, with visitation prior to the Mass at 10 AM.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Foundry Ministries, P.O. Box 824, Bessemer, AL 35021, St. Jude’s Catholic Parish, or the charity of your choice.

Expressions of condolences for the family may be made at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.

    To Geoffrey’s family:
    Richard and I are feeling so sad that Geof’s life ended so early and that things didn’t work out better for him. I felt Richard and I always conected well with him and enjoyed his company. Such a likeable guy he was. Anyway, I hope he is in a happy place now.

    Just found out today about Georr’s van passing. He was a great person and wonderful friend. I lived with guy for over a year. Went great! We will miss him!

    Geoff was such a great classmate!! Full of laughter, kindness and compassion. It was soo great to see him at our 10th year reunion. He was such a joy to be around. Praying for peace and comfort for all that knew him. Class of 92’ Bay Springs High. 💙💛💙💛
