George Nolan Wilson, Jr., a native of Jacksonville, FL and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the age of 98.

George was a POW in World War II. He dedicated the last 71 years of his life to God and became a Seventh Day Adventist Minister.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Wilson; sister, Iris Van Voorhis; brother, J.R. Wilson; and his parents, George Wilson and Grace Wilson.

He is survived by his children, Leann (Kevin) Cassibry of Fairhope, AL and Glenn Wilson of Washington, GA; grandchildren, Lindsay Cassibry, Wilson (Natalie) Cassibry, Bryan Wilson, Eric Wilson and their mother, Jill Wilson;  great grandbaby C.C. that is due in January 2023; nephews, George Van Voorhis, Ed Van Voorhis and Danny Miley; and niece, Sharon Alamalhodaei.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL, at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Fairhope Seventh Day Adventist Church, 22886 US-98, Fairhope, AL 36532.
